FUN WITH FONT AND STRUCTURE!
Font: Utilizes varied and dynamic Sans-Serif fonts
Structure: Uses a
radiation structure, as patters are riffed on around the outside, but ultimately serve a clear central focal point
Clearly
balanced in the center of the frame as radiating light highlights the name of the actual thing being advertised, and is, for the most part,
asymmetrically balanced
The title of the art house, because of the smaller and varied figures surrounding it, is clearly delineated as the main
figure while the surrounding figural garnishes serve to
ground the center logo as important
Font: Utilizes very sparse sans-serif typeface, in small font
Structure: Uses a very strict
formal structure. It gains its power from the very tight, centered
balance within this rigid formal structure.
The tight focus of the actual design elements lead the eye inward and lend the piece a powerful focus, and the
asymmetrical design keeps the eye focused on the powerful focal point, while the small typeface draws the reader's attention in closer.
The whole of what was discussed above is accentuated even more by the (almost total field) use of
negative spaceThe
Size of the center logo, which is obviously the focal point give that everything else is negative space, sets up an elegant importance re this structure, which could act as an attention grabber for possible viewers
Fon
t: Two differently-tiered sizes of sans-serif font are used
Structure: This carries an
informal or
random structure as there are no real lines or structures, implied or otherwise.
The
balance in the design is weighted heavily just below center and in the middle of the frame.
The main logo is centered pretty even but remains
asymmetrical with simple text making up most of the design. The check mark above the work 'verizon' creates a strong sense of
direction toward said logo.
Font: All font crammed left and sans-serif, and vastly disparate sizes creates high priority for the title, so one knows what we are talking about here
Structure: Concrete structure, with the title arguably being the important focal point even while it retains the smaller portion of the billboard.
The
balance can also be said to be on the right hand side, as the picture mainly serves as a starting point for the eye, but what is really important is the text introducing what the 'product' actually is.
Size is important here, again, because the very large picture serves as a teaser (with a leading lady) to draw the eye to the name of the product, which is downplayed but obviously the point.
Font: An elegant serif font
Structure: Here again is a
concrete structure, because the man's body would do the most to create structure lines for the ad
The
balance also clearly lies with the man's body, which is massive within the space of the ad and creates a
contrast with the actual logo, which the viewer will have to peer in closer to see.
Size also is important for the same reason, the logo becomes the thing the viewer must strain to see, thereby making it more worth while to ponder.
